Week 4

Wow! Our 4th week of school is here already! Here are some reminders for this week! o August book club orders are due on Thursday of this week. If you would like to order books, please bring the completed order form with check or cash to school in the agenda. o Library books should be returned to school each Tuesday. If your child does not return his or her book, no new book will be allowed to check out. We will begin to study our first Bible memory verse this week. Students will be expected to memorize the verse and say it orally during class on Thursday of next week. This allows 2 weeks total for memorization of the verse. We practice it daily during class. Please practice the verse at home each night. Discuss what the verse means and discuss ways to use it in your family's day to day life, instead of just having rote memorization. This will help your child make a personal connection to the verse.

Fun Spelling Practice

Hey guys! I hope you're all having a great week. I just found this AWESOME spelling website for the kiddos to practice their words on! Right now, we don't have a computer in the classroom (but we are working on trying to get one) so at home practice is all we can get on this. I think they will have a fun time learning to spell their words with it. Just click the link below, which will take you directly to our word lists. Find your child's grade and list number and click on it. Then chose to play a game, take a practice test, or listen to the words being spelled to you. Have fun!

Week 2 Updates

Wow! What a great week. I have enjoyed getting to know each student. We spent the majority of last week learning our class rules and procedures and reviewing concepts from last year's learning. There are a few things I would like you to know going into our 2nd week.

1.) Our specials start this week. The schedule is as follows:
  • Monday- PE   WEAR TENNIS SHOES!
  • Tuesday- library
  • Wednesday- story time
  • Thursday- art
2.) Monday folders will go home this week. Please review all papers inside. If they are on the keep side, keep them at home. If there are any papers such as tests that are on the return side please initial the top right corner and send them back to school. Monday folders are due back at school on Tuesday.

3.) It has been brought to my attention that I left out a math sheet (and tablet paper for 2nd grade). I will send these things home on Monday so that homework can be completed. If you have any questions regarding homework, please feel free to send me and email or call me. I will be glad to help!

Thank you for helping our kids have a great first week! I look foward to the rest of the year with you!

First Day Reminders

Thank you for attending Open House! I enjoyed meeting each and every one of you! This is going to be a great year, as our new students were so very sweet! I know the weekend will be hectic for you, but here are a couple of reminders for the first day:

1.) School begins at 8:00. Students are considered "tardy" at 8:05. Please do your best to be on time!
2.) If your child is eating school lunch, please pay in advance. Lunches are $3.50 per plate. If your child does not pay, he/she can not eat a school lunch.
3.) We have snack time every morning. Pack a small, healthy snack that can be eaten in about 5 minutes.
4.) Bring all supplies labeled with your child's name.

I look foward to seeing you all on Monday morning! Have a blessed weekend!
